What Equipment Is Used To Clean My Roof?

Cleaning your roof:  sounds daunting; sounds expensive. You will never know until it is done and you get the quote. Knowing what equipment is used to clean your roof would go a long way in helping you determine what some of the cost that cleaning your roof entails.

The  process and equipment used to clean the roof

First off, never use high pressure to clean your roof. Use high pressure and it’s going to ruin your shingle granules and you will have to buy a new roof. Buying a new roof is going to cost you anywhere from 10 to 20 to 30 thousand dollars depending on the size of your roof. Professional roof cleaners like All-Clean! Wash use specific equipment and mixtures to clean, and at the same time, protect your roof from the damage of high-pressure washers.

The soap tank

The soap tank contains the mixture used to clean the roof and it is a 50-50 mix of sodium hypochlorite, mixed with a soap. It helps clean the roof and actually do its job. There is one tank for the sodium hypochlorite and one is for the mix that is put into the trucks.

Soap and softwash pressure hose

The softwash pressure hose is used more for house cleans and any concrete. The hose has a nozzle. This is how it is used:

  1. Unwrap hose completely
  2. Attach injector. The injector is tied to the soap mix that is mixed in the tanks
  3. Hook it up and turn on the 12V batteries. What it does is that the 12V batteries pump the soap through the hose when you turn it on.
  4. Apply very, very light pressure, very minimal pressure probably about the same as a garden hose
  5. Let sit on the roof for a few days, so basically when you apply the soap, you let the rain take care of it.

You don’t want to rinse if you rinse it you run the risk of not getting that mold and algae off completely. And if you wait until the next storm comes in, it will give the soap mix enough time to sit on your roof and when that happens, your roof’s going to look pretty much brand new as long as there’s no damage.

So in short, use soaps, a 12V battery, and hoses and apply that to your roof, let that sit till the next rain and the end result is a clean roof.

All-Clean! Wash also apply three year warranties, so if you’re looking to getting your roof cleaned, you don’t have to worry about anything being damaged, you have a three-year warranty and your roof’s going to be clean for at least three years if not, give us a call and we’ll fix it.
